The Mumbai attacks recently has shocked the world. The audacity of the attackers, the level of dedication and fighting ability definitely went without notice. Killing in excess of 170 people and injuring about 300, the attacks are said to be the worst in India’s history.

It has since been uncovered that the attackers were indeed Pakistani and were trained by a Pakistani army general. The group responsible also calls Pakistan home and it is with this information, that the Indian government has summoned the Pakistani High Commissioner and have officially issued a memo of protest, which demands that action be taken by the Pakistani government to investigate and bring to justice those involved.

Indo-Pak relations have been on a bit of wobble lately and these attacks have certainly brought no good. Anand Sharma, the Minister of State for External Affairs has recognised this by stating this incident is a grave setback for their relationship.

Some politicians have been very vocal recently with the idea of a full scale attack on Pakistan in retaliation to these attacks.

How Pakistan responds to this memo is yet to be seen, but I truly hope that both parties tend toward better judgment and avoid an all out war!
