Audi Superbowl ad – Vampire killing A7 :)

The Superbowl is the single most flamboyant media event of the sporting calendar with advertising spend being greater than that of the Olympics or the Soccer World Cup. In 2012, Audi will be taking a stab at all Twilight lovers with a brilliant ad campaign highlighting the effectiveness of its LED lights.

2013 Audi S4 – video!

A video of the 2013 Audi S4 which will pack a Turbocharged V6 engine and hurtle the car from standstill to 100km/h in under 5 seconds using 333 HP. The car will be available in the US in June 2012 and no release dates have been confirmed for South Africa.

Porsche Club 2012 Concourse in Cape Town!

Growing up in the 90′s meant that I grew up watching Michael Schumacher drive for Ferrari on Sunday’s during the F1 races, which also meant that at every TV break, I watched a series of Porsche ads. This is when I fell in love with the German car manufacturers work. When I discovered that both Porsche and Audi were of the same family of cars, this love immediately grew and today, I am a fairly big fan of the Cayman S, which is not exactly the fastest, the most advanced or even the best driving experience-car in the stable, but I’m convinced that it is the best looking of the cars within affordability range for me.

The Porsche Club Cape will be getting together on Sunday, 29th January 2012 at 8:30am to show off just the kind of beauty that I’m referring to as its members show off their cars. They’ve also been kind enough to extend an open invitation to Porsche fans to visit them at the 2012 Annual Porsche Club Cape Concourse.

Sneak peak at the 2011 Volvo S60!

I was invited to the media launch of the Volvo S60 a while ago. The car launches in SA in Feb 2011. I got to drive the 3 engine derivatives, the Petrol, Diesel known as the D5 and Turbo Petrol known as the T6. All three cars gave me a completely different driving experience and for those who know me, know that I drive my car hard and demand performance, agility and challenge the car as often as possible. All 3 derivatives survived me through the mountains of George in the Western Cape as I thrashed them through the Outeniqua Pass and I most enjoyed the diesel powered Volvo S60 D5. It gave me the best driving experience of the lot surprisingly. It was the most fun that I have had in a diesel powered vehicle ever and even though in a straight line 1km sprint, the turbo powered T6 engine out-performs it, I still found myself opting to drive the diesel as much as I could.

Features in the new Volvo S60 include the standard stuff for its class, ABS, loads of airbags, multi-functional steering wheel, leather seats, Aux-In audio player, etc. There are not many “wow” features that can be added as extra, but I would recommend the Sat-Nav and the iPod prep.

The 2010 Volvo S60 and V60 R-Design cars are to be launched at the Paris Motor Show this year, but the Swedes have released this sneak peek video to show off the slick, aggressively sexy design cues of the R-Design models.

Volvo’s are no longer soccer mom cars, these things rock (Trust me, I know!)

Audi charges $46000 for yellow paint!

In what I hope is a website bug, the Audi USA website A4 configurator has the new B8 Audi s4 sporting one of the most expensive paint jobs cashing in at a whopping $46 000 for the “Imola Yellow”. I’m a massive Audi fan and while I totally dig this colour, I highly recommend you check out the “Lava Grey”. I just bought my second A4 in that colour and I’m still totally in love with it!

VW Polo Vivo TV Advert!
