The Superbowl is the single most flamboyant media event of the sporting calendar with advertising spend being greater than that of the Olympics or the Soccer World Cup. In 2012, Audi will be taking a stab at all Twilight lovers with a brilliant ad campaign highlighting the effectiveness of its LED lights.

2013 Audi S4 – video!

A video of the 2013 Audi S4 which will pack a Turbocharged V6 engine and hurtle the car from standstill to 100km/h in under 5 seconds using 333 HP. The car will be available in the US in June 2012 and no release dates have been confirmed for South Africa.

Porsche Club 2012 Concourse in Cape Town!

Growing up in the 90′s meant that I grew up watching Michael Schumacher drive for Ferrari on Sunday’s during the F1 races, which also meant that at every TV break, I watched a series of Porsche ads. This is when I fell in love with the German car manufacturers work. When I discovered that both Porsche and Audi were of the same family of cars, this love immediately grew and today, I am a fairly big fan of the Cayman S, which is not exactly the fastest, the most advanced or even the best driving experience-car in the stable, but I’m convinced that it is the best looking of the cars within affordability range for me.

The Porsche Club Cape will be getting together on Sunday, 29th January 2012 at 8:30am to show off just the kind of beauty that I’m referring to as its members show off their cars. They’ve also been kind enough to extend an open invitation to Porsche fans to visit them at the 2012 Annual Porsche Club Cape Concourse.

Aggregating 100′s of sites into a single app with a gorgeous design, making it simple to consume content.

Nando’s Last Dictator Standing ad!

Nando’s “Last Dictator Standing” has been a brilliantly successful campaign from the Peri-Peri Chicken brand. The video has successfully managed to score posts from Huffington Post and TIME.com.

I was fortunate enough to score a link to my Nando’s “Secrecy Bill” campaign post from Time.com.

MWEB fights for Naked ADSL! |Video

MWEB has started a campaign for Naked ADSL and this is a cause that REALLY needs as much support as possible as it is currently corporate rape that Telkom is allowed to charge us for Telkom landline rentals for phone lines that we do not want in order to get access to ADSL line rentals.

The unbundling of these two products will be a huge saving to those who already have ADSL, but don’t use their landlines and also make ADSL more accessible to those who can not afford the combined cost of both the Telkom phone line and the ADSL line rentals.

Samsung Galaxy S2 ad campaign mocks iPhone 4S!

Samsung has launched an attack campaign on Apple with their latest mock advert which does not explicitly mention the iPhone 4S, but does a good job of ripping Apple fanboys.

I must admit, even though I’m a huge Apple fan, I quite like the ad from Samsung.

I started blogging a few years ago when I was inspired by ChrisM from iMod who had been doing it for a few years by then already. I was soon addicted & was later nominated for two 2009 SA Blog Awards, Best New Blog and Best Science & Technology Blog. Even though I did not win, the greatest compliment to my work that I could have had at the time, was that ChrisM had admitted that he was intimidated by my blog and saw me as a serious contender to beat him in the awards.

In 2010, again I made the final list of Best Science & Technology blogs, but only managed to snatch runner up. This year too, I have been voted as one of the Top 3 and have been invited to the awards ceremony in Cape Town next month.

I’ve often said, that I see my blog as my playground on the web where I learn about how the web works and I use it purely to experiment with things like SEO best practise and stuffs. For the last year, I’ve spent a lot of my time fine tuning. Fine tuning old articles, my blog design and SEO implementation among other things.

The rewards have finally paid off, with a consistent flow of organic traffic from search engines, my blog posts being indexed and ranked by Google within minutes of me posting new articles and an awesome rating by webgrader of 98%. )

While these feat was a slow and diligent one, I have to give thanks where it is due and for that, I am grateful these two guys who have helped me tremendously through the years.

Chris M: Thank you for inspiring me to start this blog. Without you as a mentor through the years, I doubt I would have had the patience to sustain this. (@ChrisM)

Jack Wheeler: Thank you for the design help & your consistent push for CSS awesomeness. Due to your niggliness & eye for detail, I now have a blog logo that I’m proud of. (@JDCWheeler)
