After much hoohaa Sprint-Clearwire has finally kicked off and have announced their new trade name, Clear!

Launching their site, Clear comes across as an effecient, cool, slick and well oiled operation. Products seem well defined with prices starting at $10. Boasting a very cool coverage map on the site, it is very clear that Google has come to the party and they have brought their location based services along.

I’m really excited about WiMax and I’ll be watching Clear closely as this could define the tech

nology war that beckons between LTE and WiMax. Consumers are sick of these wars, much like HD DVD and BluRay, and we would appreciate it one of these technologies take the lead.

Admirably, Google has not adjusted the search results to favour its co-owned company and a Google search for “clear” has no signs of the new site yet!
