My 2009 Resolutions!
I know that this post is a bit late, but I have been traveling and have just returned to civilized lands where internet access is a reality.
2008 was a really crappy year for me. Everything that could go wrong, did! Loosing my kid brother in a car accident was certainly the low point of 2008. It did have a few high points though. My trip to see IslandChic in Beijing was certainly the highlight!
2009 snuck up on me like a taxi driver at a four way stop. But its here and its first week is already drawing to an end already.
I’ve put together a list of resolutions that I feel are worth sticking to. I’ve tried to be realistic about it and I certainly won’t be promising massive weight loss!
I resolute to:
- Listen without saying anything for 20 minutes a day (Apparently, I have too little patience for stupid people and I need to listen more!)
- Feed a poor child at least twice a month
- Help educate a poor child
- Study something that aids my career
- Study something that adds value to my life without affecting my career
- Find a friend that I have forgotten about and catch up
- Stop judging the artsy fartsy type, some people are just weird
- Fix this thing called “my health”
- Spend more time outside
In 2009 I will greatly reduce the intake of: (not GIVE UP, just reduce!)
- Softdrinks (That whole theory that Coke adds life, is balls!)
- Chocolate bars (Happens rarely anyway, so less is bonus!)
- White bread (Wheat and Grain is the way!)
- Fries (Nando’s wedges is better anyway!)
- Chilli (I’m Indian, so just know that this isn’t as easy it may sound!)
- Energy drinks (Those things are designed for athletes and not for people who have parts that wobble when they laugh!)
In 2009 I will greatly increase the intake of:
- Tea
- Cucumber (lol)
- Peaches
- Fresh Grapes
- Whole grain bread
- Water
- Veggies
I think thats it for me. I’d love to hear yours!

January 5, 2009 at 4:17 pmGreat to have you back and blogging again, you've been AWOL for a while, glad you're well. I must admit, your two food related lists are identical to what I have in my mind, I need to cut out the rubbish food and insert some good food. I've got a list of mine, which I'm putting onto a white board at the moment, but the problem is, they're not really items I'd like to make public, but what I can tell you, is that one involves investing and the other involves healthy eating :)

January 5, 2009 at 4:23 pm@ChrisM - Yeah mate, I was away for a bit and really wasn't expecting not to have net access for so long. But I'm back and things will get going to a nice quick and aggressive Q1. Taking over the world isn't a job for the weak, you know?!

January 5, 2009 at 4:33 pmEeeek, that's happened to me before, I went away, expecting to have net access to only find out that I'd have to drive an hour along a dirt road, so I had to try and blog via my mobile, you know how intense that is when you're writing about something like SEO or marketing, sjoe! I'm strong, strong like bull. I don't want to take over the world, I just want to have a piece of each person taking over the world ;)

January 5, 2009 at 4:42 pmYeah... I bought a local SIM card hoping to score on 3G or at the very least GPRS, only to find out afterwards that it takes a week to activate...MAJOR help that was! I wonder when satellite phones with data capabilities will become mainstream, cos I can definitely use one of those! If you plan on investing in property, check out the JHB market. While i was there, i checked out a few billboard advertising new developments all over the show at CRAZY prices! I'll be doing some digging myself!

January 5, 2009 at 4:47 pmA week to activate, ARGH! Yup, there are hundreds of lifestyle centres opening up all over the place at wonderful prices, so I've been looking around a little too. I don't have enough capital to start yet, but that's what this year will hopefully sort out..
