South African Election Campaigning Has Begun!

The 2009 South African election campaigning has begun and while many campaign tactics and strategies have been questioned, one can not help but be amused at the finger pointing and party slander that has began.

I do not have the exact words of the 4 foot Cape Town Mayor with the annoying voice, but it went along lines of, “Every time Julius Malema opens his mouth, the DA gets more votes!”. I have to give her credit for her snappiness with that comment!

It will be interesting to see exactly how dirty this elections get and I for one am particularly excited to see the adoption of American campaigning strategies that have started to emerge. I am focussed on the use of technology, the mannerisms in which they sell their policies and the adaptability of the American approach to the local environment.

PS. If you have not registered to vote, DON’T COMPLAIN!
