I have however come up with a slight twist to the competition. You see, I already own a fooseball table and even though this one is WAY cooler, I think that it would be a lot more appropriate if I auctioned this Foozeball table off and donate all the proceeds to a soccer club for kids that is in need of gear.

I have not had time to find such a soccer club, so I welcome recommendations.

My blog and I have been through a lot this last year and seen its ups and downs, but one thing remained constant, my determination to get to the SA Blog Awards and win!

Thanks to so many of my loyal supporters, I have been nominated in TWO categories in the 2009 SA Blog Awards: Best New Blog and Best Science & Technology Blog. I am eternally grateful for so many who have thought that I deserve to compete on this level and I am VERY proud of my blog.

The final round of the competition is a numbers game and the most votes comes out the victor and again I will not be able to win this without the support of my ardents readers and supporters.

Some of my other work in the last year has seen me feature on the Mail & Gaurdian owned blog called Techleader with my article titled, ” The Future of the Web is Contextual!”
and my recent article on MoralFibre where I reviewed a coffee shop.

I do not have the exact words of the 4 foot Cape Town Mayor with the annoying voice, but it went along lines of, “Every time Julius Malema opens his mouth, the DA gets more votes!”. I have to give her credit for her snappiness with that comment!

It will be interesting to see exactly how dirty this elections get and I for one am particularly excited to see the adoption of American campaigning strategies that have started to emerge. I am focussed on the use of technology, the mannerisms in which they sell their policies and the adaptability of the American approach to the local environment.

PS. If you have not registered to vote, DON’T COMPLAIN!

It would be the first time that I take part in the competition and I doubt that there exists any greater achievement for my blog at this stage of its short life.
